For many years I have enjoyed researching and documenting my family tree and the history of my ancestors. I am sharing what I've learned through this web site.
Since I'm not an expert at creating web pages I'm sure there will be occasional errors, and many of you could probably suggest better ways to accomplish the things I'm trying to accomplish. I've gathered a great deal of information concerning my "family tree." I have stored most of my genealogy information in an application called "Family Tree Maker." It's a great, PC-based tool, but isn't useful when it comes to sharing information with others. I've researched tools that will take the information from my FTM application and format it in a way that can be shown on a web site, and I've finally found a great application. It's called "WebTrees", and I've used it to create the functionality behind the "Family Tree" button. Check it out!
There are a couple of indisputable facts about every "family tree" project: they're never complete and they're never 100% accurate. Mine is no exception. Although I've done my best to check and re-check each fact, I'm sure there are some errors and omissions. That's why I'm counting on my "extended family" to help me get it right. As you view the various charts, reports, and facts you will undoubtedly discover that something is missing or that something is wrong. PLEASE let me know so I can make the appropriate corrections! In addition, my typing skills leave a bit to be desired, so if you spot any typo's that I have overlooked, please let me know so I can correct them.
I have obtained a terrific collection of photographs of the Flynn family. Actually, it was the hard work of my cousin, Carol (Kunk) Butler, that resulted in most of this collection being assembled. She borrowed photos from each branch of our grandfather's (Frank Flynn's) family and had them scanned into computer readable format. That's the good news. The bad news is that this collection - just like most other photo collections - isn't labeled! I am publishing those photos here and I am providing a mechanism to allow visitors to provide "caption" information so I can get those things labeled appropriately. You can find the photo's behind the "Photo Album" button. If you have any photos that you feel would make a good addition to the family album, send them to me and I'll get them on-line.
During my research I have found many documents that have helped piece together the family tree and family history and am sharing those with anyone who's interested. You can find these behind the "Documents" button.
Some of those documents were contributed by family members who wanted to share them with all of our relatives. If you have anything of that nature that you'd like to contribute, please send them to me and I will add them to the collection. There are a variety of document types, such as government records, letters written by family members, and other personal papers, that fall into this category.
