Obituary, published in the Dubuque Telegraph Herald on 11 June 2002: Marion R Slowey, 78, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 2724 Pinard St., died Sunday, June 9, 2002, at the care center. Services will be at noon Wednesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. . . . Mrs. Slowey worked at the Battery Factory in Dubuque. She was born on Feb. 26, 1924, in Dubuque, daughter of Aloysius and Ottilia (Roth) Fangman, She married James F. Slowey on July 23, 1946, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque; he died on march 28, 1992. . . . Surviving are two sons, Dennis J. (Lynda L.) Slowey of Dubuque, and Kevin G. (Sheila M.) Slowey, Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren, Lon Slowey, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tonya (Jason) Grawe, of Dubuque, Chad (special friend, Lisa Elgin) Slowey, of Dubuque, and Danielle and Alison Slowey, both of Bettendorf; great-grandchildren, Hannah Slowey, of Cedar Rapids, and Andrew and Autumn Grawe, of Dubuque; and brothers, Charles (Jackie) Fangman, of Peoria, Ill., Roger (Mary) Fangman, of Dubuque.
