"Jimmy" Kent, 69, of Mondovi, WI, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Hillview Senior Living in Mondovi. He was born on April 24, 1943, in Mondovi to LaVerne and Phyllis (Lawrence) Kent. Jimmy was a resident of the Northern Colony in Chippewa Falls, WI, for many years before returning to live in Mondovi. He was employed by Marten Transport as a custodian for twenty years. For thirty years he helped keep Mondovi clean by mowing lawns and collecting cans around town. Jimmy always had a smile on his face and was known as a hard worker. He always said thank you before you finished what you were doing for him. He is survived by two brothers, Stan (Carmen) Kent of Tremont, IL, and Steve Kent of Melbourne, FL; a half brother, Ken Ness of Eau Claire, WI; a sister-in-law, Hana Kent of Melbourne, Australia; a special caregiver, Cindy Hardy of Mondovi, WI; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his stepdad, Leslie Ness; and a brother, Dale Kent. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi with Pastor Gary Preston officiating.
