OBITUARY found on FindAGrave.com: Roy J Carpenter, age 81, of Darlington, Wisconsin, died on Friday, May 28, 1993 at William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. He was born on March 25, 1912 in LaFayette County, Wisconsin, the son of John and Mary Agnes (Miller) Carpenter. He was an Army veteran of World War II in the European Theater. He was married to the former Regina H Boyle on April 8, 1940 in Nashua, Iowa. She preceded him in death on April 17, 1981. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, Wisconsin. Surviving are four daughters, Sharon Narvig of Madison, Wisconsin, Karen Peterson of Tucson, Arizona, Carol Benson of Darlington, Wisconsin, and Lori (Dr. Michael) Fisher of Dodgeville, Wisconsin; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Lola (Milo) Coulthard and Edith Coulthard, both of Darlington, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews, In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael John Carpenter in April of 1962; six brothers; and two sisters. Funeral sevices will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 1993 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, Wisconsin, with Father Tom Coyle officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded. |
