OBITUARY published in the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram on 23 Jun 2015: Daryl R. Dahl, 46, of Eau Claire, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, at his home with his family at his side after a very long battle with ALS. He was born July 14, 1968, in Eau Claire, the son of Duane and Mary (Witkus) Dahl. Daryl graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1986. He was married and divorced with no children. He was living in Minnesota working for Korbel & Associates; his job required him to travel a lot both in the U.S. and overseas. He was a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and first responder. He was very athletic and participated in several inline skating marathons. He had a strong passion for bicycling and put thousands of miles on over the years. He had a very active life and was always on the go. He will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched. Daryl is survived by his parents, Duane and Mary Dahl; sisters, Mindy Bauer and her boyfriend, Jan, Molly (James) Carson, and Judy Dahl; niece, Emma Carson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellwood and Leona Dahl, Elmer and Evelyn Witkus. We would like to thank Dr. Schifeling, St. Joseph’s Hospice, his hospice nurse John, and caregivers Stacy and Heather. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Spring Brook Cemetery in the Town of Spring Brook with Pastor Alan Millen officiating.
