Military graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Bradenton Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. Born in Egypt, Mr. Baird came to Manatee County from Milwaukee nine years ago. He was a retired attorney form Chicago and Milwaukee. He was a member of Florida Bar Association, Kiwanis Club and Longboat Key Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea. He is survived by his wife, Sally M.; two daughters, D'Arcy Arpke of Longboat Key and Joan Baird-Remba of Falls Church, VA; three sons, J. Stacey, of Nashville, TN, Bruce, of Lorton, VA, and Robert, of Dallas; a sister, Jeanette Baird DeVault of Champaign, IL; a brother, Donald, of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
