OBITUARY oublished in the Eau Claire Leader Telegram on 24 May 2018: Myrl Patricia “Pat” (Severson) Ahneman passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer and long stay at Clearwater Care Feb. 1, 2018 in Eau Claire, Wis. Patty’s life began in 1928 with Chet and Gladys (Hotchkiss) Severson, was a big sister to Betty. Pat or Patty graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1946, married Jack Ahneman in 1948. Pat was an artist all of her life, specializing in horses. She spent a good deal of time sharing, learning and laughing with Hugh Mandelert art classmates in Chippewa Falls. Longtime friendships developed and were heartily enjoyed. Many art shows and other displays occurred, plus, she won ribbons at the fair for her artistic talent. Pat spent many happy hours giving tours and helping otherwise at the Chippewa County Historical Society (she received a ‘Hall of Fame’ recognition award for that effort.) She developed several long term friends through that pathway. Pat is survived by her sister Betty Haddeman, 4 children: Paul of Wolf Point, MT, Juli of Chippewa Falls, Todd (Janice) of Cumberland, WI, and Aemi (Roger) Thompson of Salem, AR. Grandmother of Wendy, Mandy, Elizabeth, Paulette Ahneman, Rhiannon Ahneman, Nick Ahneman, Michelle, Todd and Tami. Great-Grandmother of 13. Donna Ahneman a loved ex-daughter in law, 4 cousins. Numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1988, a grandson TJ Staples in Montana. 5 Ahneman brother’s in law Walt, Bill (Nora), Everett (Leona), Spen (Cecilia) and Roy (Vera), 4 Ahneman sister’s in law; Vera (Harold) Tower, Irene (Jim) Nelson, Evelyn (Clare) Johnson, Fern (Earl) Quevillon, brother in law Earl Haddeman, 2 cousins. A ‘Celebration of Her Life’ will be held May 26 at the Wheaton Town Hall - Cty Highway T, Chippewa Falls. Noon until 4:00 pm. We will have samples of her artwork on display.
